I find myself having to keep reset it at different values so that its correct. It usually only changes when you change sample rate. Also, fyi, buffer size has no effect on the Driver Error Compensation figure.

Latency wasnt ever an issue either. Thanks macbook I much prefer outboard gear myself but this was the way to use what I allready have to get the results we wanted.

I haven't used Ableton "live" since earlier incarnations, and the cpu's weren't as powerful back then, so more for few tracks and manipulation, running a guitar through as well with Guitar Rig or something would generaly force me to boost the buffer up to a level in which latency was a pita!

Thanks for the reply, right now Ive only recorded guitar, but in this situation I've been recording the interfaces own output. Are you turning monitor "off" on the track you are recording onto? I did the DEC setup a few years back, found similar results as reported above, I had a decent interface apogee ensemble , and it seemed to cause more problems or inconsistency then it was worth if I remember correctly.
